Willie Garson, the actor best known for his role as Carrie Bradshaw’s best male friend Stanford Blatch in ‘Sex and the City’, has died. He was 57.
His death was confirmed Tuesday by his son, Nathen Garson, in a… Instagram. The cause was not immediately announced.
“I’m so glad you were able to share all your adventures with me and achieve so much,” said his son. “I’m so proud of you. I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own.”
In addition to his popular role in “Sex and the City,” Mr. Garson also known for his role as a con artist Mozzie on the TV show ‘White Collar’.
mr. Garson is credited with appearing in 30 films, including the 2008 film “Sex and the City” and its 2010 sequel “Sex and the City 2”.
As news of Mr Garson’s death spread Tuesday night, actors and performers shared their memories and praise on social media.
Comedic actor Mario Cantone, who is Mr. Garson starred in ‘Sex and the City’, said on… Twitter that he was “devastated and simply overwhelmed with grief.”
“We are quickly being taken away from all of us,” he said. “You were a gift from the gods.”
