The Amazon PS5 restock is out today, and our PS5 and Xbox complete Twitter tracker Matt Swider sends you alerts when the PS5 is in stock in the US – if you follow his Twitter account and turn on notifications. How do we know for sure? Amazon has added a line of text to its product pages for the $499 PS5 disc and the $399 PS5 Digital consoles, officially stating that “Amazon Prime customers will have priority access to the PlayStation 5 until September 21, 2021.” That means both versions of the PS5 will go on sale today late Tuesday, and Matt Swider will notify you when the PS5 is in stock at Amazon. The PS5 restocking time can be every minute.
► When? Follow our PS5 restock Twitter tracker Matt Swider and enable notifications for instant restock news. It is the fastest way to get PS5 stock updates.
► Never buy from other Twitter users – ever. They are all scams. Only buy from the US stores that Matt warns you about. No one will sell a PS5 for just $550.

Amazon PS5 Restock Date & Time Today
Amazon usually replenishes the PS5 towards the end of the month – and it’s been available just after the 20th of every month since April 2021. Today is September 21, so it’s exactly when the PlayStation 5 should be in stock on Amazon.com.
There’s a twist today: Amazon is restricting PS5 purchases (or giving priority access) to its paid Amazon Prime members. Prime costs $119 a year or $13 a month (there’s also a 30-day free trial if you don’t already have a paid account).
Amazon has generally stuck to two restock times for the PS5: either just after 3 a.m. EDT and early morning: just after 10 a.m. EDT. However, since Amazon Prime Day at the end of June, it has not been replenished in the middle of the night.
The trick to getting the Amazon PS5 replenishment
In addition to following PS5 restock tracker Matt Swider for real-time restock alerts, you’ll want to know a few things about buying the PlayStation 5 from Amazon.
- Follow our PS5 completes Twitter tracker Matt Swider
- Log in to your Amazon Prime account in advance.
- Visit the PS5 Disc or PS5 Digital pages once tweeted.
- Key: If the add to cart button disappears or you’re constantly seeing 404 errors (Amazon uses dogs on the error pages), select “Add to List” on the product page.
- Go to the list by clicking on ‘View list’.
- From there, try adding PS5 to the cart (as this page is not being hammered with traffic).
- Do not give up. It is often not sold out – can take up to 30 minutes to buy
The fact that Amazon limits the PS5 supplement to Amazon Prime members will certainly help. Maybe we won’t see so many Amazon 404 errors with a dog.
Why an Amazon Prime PS5 Supplement is Good
and that’s a good thing. With so many bots and resellers creating multiple accounts, it can lead to people not buying to sell at a high price.
This is the first time Amazon has locked the PS5 behind a paywall in the US through its Amazon Prime membership. However, Amazon has tried this tactic abroad, for example in the UK, with great success. GameStop has been doing something similar in recent months, requiring PS5 customers to sign up for the PowerUp Rewards Pro membership for $14.99 per year.
Amazon PS5 Disc vs PS5 Digital: Which One to Buy?
Another thing to keep in mind: Sometimes Amazon makes the PS5 Disc version available first. When they are sold out, the PS5 Digital Edition may go on sale. It is not suggested that you wait for PS5 Digital.
Often Amazon only sells PS5 Disc and never opens orders for Digital. We can confirm that PS5 Digital stock is always lighter than Disc at US retailers, so waiting for PS5 Digital may mean you won’t get a console from Amazon.
We also touted PS5 Disc, because while it’s $100 more money for $499 than the $399 PS5 Digital, disc games get cheaper faster (many competitors sell them), while digital games stay more expensive (only Sony sells them). via the PS5 store). In the long run, you will save over $100.
Amazon won’t be the only PS5 addition this week
Amazon won’t be the only one to have PS5 on sale this week. Best Buy is also slated to have the Sony console in stores. We even exclusively reported that the Best Buy PS5 addition for Thursday will have retail locations with consoles in stores (a big change from previous drops where they were kept in regional warehouses and shipped to stores for in-store pick-ups. 5 days later).
Walmart usually stocks PS5 on Thursdays (but not every Thursday), though consoles are backordered and many August replenishment customers saw their Walmart tracking information go from “in progress” to “cancelled” or “delayed.”
There’s a Sony Direct PS5 add-on out today, Tuesday, September 21, although so far it’s limited to those with the Sony Direct email invite and scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT. Sometimes Sony will open a second virtual queue for all PSN users at 5:00 PM EDT.
